In November, 2009 , a group of Catholic, Orthodox, Anglican, and Evangelical Christian leaders released the Manhattan Declaration, a document reaffirming and promising to defend fundamental truths in three areas:
It is clear that these basic truths are being threatened today on all sides. Millions of innocent children are being killed by abortion; several states have redefined marriage to include same-sex unions; and there are very real threats to our ability to freely practice religion and follow our consciences.
Join the St. Anthony of Padua Institute and the Diocese of Oakland, along with a great list of speakers (Robert George, Archbishop Allen Vigneron, Bishop Thomas Curry, Jennifer Roback Morse, and more!), for enlightenment and advice on addressing the challenges facing Catholics, Christians, and all persons of good will in our civic life
This conference is presented by the St. Anthony of Padua Institute and the Diocese of Oakland.
On August 25th, 2010 there will be a talk featuring a principal author of the Manhattan Declaration, Robert P. George, Ph. D., at The Cathedral of Christ the Light Conference Center, 2121 Harrison St. Oakland, CA 94612. Click here for more information.
