Jennifer Morse, Ph. D.
Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse is founder and President of the Ruth Institute, dedicated to promoting life-long, married love among college students. She has taught at Yale, George Mason University, and the Cornell Law School and served as a Research Fellow at the Hoover Institution. She continues Senior Research Fellow in Economics at the Acton Institute for the Study of Religion and Liberty. Widely published in scholarly and policy venues, Dr. Morse recently reissued her celebrated Love and Economics (2001) in a collegiate paperback edition, under the sub-title, It Takes a Family to Raise a Village.

Marriage without adjectives: why the Church’s position on marriage is coherent and Judge Walker’s isn’t.
Same-sex unions, abortion, and euthanasia threaten the sanctity of human life and the dignity of marriage. Christians are finding themselves silenced in the public sqaure, their right to practice religion and follow their consciences attacked.
In this talk, we will focus on what marriage is, and why it is needed by society, how same sex marriage creates a whole new definition of marriage - not just an expansion of an existing institution to more people, that the redefinition of marriage is also a redefinition of parenthood, how same sex marriage threatens religious liberty, and what same sex couples can do to solve their practical problems without redefining marriage.
